Tater Trot

Last Saturday Uncle Charles, Alex, and myself ran in the 5k Tater Trot in Snow Hill, NC. I have done a few 5k races and I have been wanting Uncle Charles and Alex to do one with me. We got all geared up and did it on Saturday morning. We had a lot of fun!

Allie took first place in our age group at 26 minutes and 52 seconds. I took second place at 26 minutes and 57 seconds. Uncle Charles came in at 27 minutes and 32 seconds.

Show Us Your Life:Recipe

Italian Chicken Wraps

This is a great and easy dish. Thanks Mom for teaching me to cook at least one thing. :)

Boneless Chicken Tenders (as many as you would like)
Package of Bacon
Bottle of Italian Salad Dressing
Toothpicks

-Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
-Spray a 9*13 pan with Pam
-Roll up the boneless chicken tender and wrap a piece of bacon around the tender. Place a toothpick in the wrap and place into a 9*13 pan.
-After you place the wraps in the pan pour 1/2 of the bottle of dressing over them.
-Place in the oven and cook for 35-40 minutes

I recommended serving with yellow rice and string beans. Enjoy!!

Remember the $5 Chair...

A few weeks ago I picked this chair up at a yardsale for $5. I found some fabric and had the cushions covered. Take a look at my $5 chair now...

1st Birthday...Our House

This weekend I had to go to Chicago for work and it was a big weekend for one member of our family. Our niece, Bailey, turned a year old and was dedicated at church. I was sad that I was not able to make the events in person. Bryan did such a good job of taking pictures and calling me with updates of the weekend.

Miss Priss opening her gifts. She looks like she is a pro.

Bailey enjoying her cake. Bryan said that everytime she took a bite she would clap for yourself.

This was one of Bailey's presents from us.

Our friend, Katie C., had made her little girl the cutest tutu and I was telling her that I would love for Bailey to have one. Katie C. said I will make you one for her. :) Aunt Lizzie and Uncle B had to go with Pirate colors. I can't wait to see her modeling her tutu.
Bailey-Happy 1st Birthday!! We love you lots and we look forward to watching God reveal his special plan in your life!!

I wanted to take some of the money that we received for our wedding and purchase something that we could always keep. When we moved to Wilson one of the first people that I was John and Mary Hope. John just happens to be an artist. I talked to him about doing a portrait of our house and he said that he would love to. When I got home from Chicago Monday this is what I found in my dining room. I love it and I am excited that we will always have a painting of our first home together.
Dowdy even made it into the picture.

We Will Remember...

Today, I stop and remember those innocent people who lost their lives, the service men and women who worked so hard at the scenes, and the military who still to this day defend our freedom. I think that we take for granted the freedom that we have as a Americans and days like today are a perfect reminder. This morning I was surprised when my brother, Zack, called me. I usually only talk to him late at night due to the time difference. I immediately asked him why he was calling so early and he told me that they had a special ceremony to honor 9/11. We went on chatting for a few minutes and I walked outside, once I got out there Zack immediately said "That is beautiful" and I said "The bird singing" and he said "Yes, I never get to hear that". I was remind of the little things that we take for granted daily. We are truly a blessed nation. To the men and women that serve for us each day whether on the land of the good ole' USA or on foreign soil thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Paint it Purple Weekend!!

This weekend was our first PIRATE football game! I love this time of the year when our Saturdays center around Pirate football. The best part is that we get to see all of our college friends almost every weekend. :)

Our Pirates pulled out the game for the W on Saturday. They have to practice hard this week so we will be ready to take on WVU this weekend!!

Time to tailgate...it is my favorite time!
ELR, KT, Tay

After the game Bryan, Taylor, Brad and myself headed to the beach to hang out with my Daddy, Ms. Terry, Cheryl and Uncle Horace. Dowdy went to stay with Meme and Tuff. Tuff is our families Boxer and he is a BIG boy. We were worried that he would not like Dowdy coming to visit, but he loves him.

On Sunday Dowdy turned a year old! I never thought that we would be so crazy over a dog, but he has taken over the Radford house.

Bryan visits this pet store in Pinehurst often and he had them make a cake for Dowdy. Dowdy loved it!

Thanks Meme and Grammie for my gifts-I love them-Dowdy
